Formstep is for the step where you need something from a customer: their details, a document, a signature, a decision or a payment. Instead of emails back and forth, you send one request. Your customer gets a form made for them: already filled in with what you know, in their language, under your logo, colors and domain. They need no account, and their answers save as they go.

Formstep follows each request until it ends. It sends reminders on your schedule, and AI Validation checks uploads and answers against rules you write in plain words, so mistakes get fixed before they reach you. Customers can read a contract, sign it, approve it and pay, with nothing to print.

Send requests from the dashboard, one at a time or to a whole list, or from n8n, Zapier, the REST API, or an AI agent such as Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. The answers come back under keys that never change, to the run that asked, signed and retried until they land.

## Who it's for

A good fit if you:
- collect documents, details or signatures from customers, suppliers or clients;
- send the same form to many people and spend time chasing them;
- run onboarding, applications, approvals or orders through n8n, Zapier, HubSpot or an AI agent and need someone's answers before it can go on;
- work for several clients and want each in its own workspace, under its own brand and domain.

Not the right tool if you:
- want a CRM or a contact list: Formstep handles the request, your CRM keeps the customer;
- want a survey tool. Formstep has public share links too, but it is built around requests to people you know.

## What it costs

- **Free:** $0, no time limit and no credit card. 1,000 submissions and requests a month, 100 MB of storage, unlimited forms and team members. It covers the whole request flow: prefill, locked fields, signatures, payments and callbacks. You send the link to customers yourself; emails, reminders and AI Validation come with Pro.
- **Pro:** $39 a month, or $390 a year (2 months free). Formstep emails your customers and reminds them, from your own domain. 50,000 submissions and requests a month, 100 GB of storage, up to 5 custom domains and no Formstep branding. AI Validation, sending to a list and the PDF attached to emails come with Pro.
- **Business:** $109 a month, or $1,090 a year. Everything in Pro, plus email verification, custom data retention, version history, up to 20 custom domains, 500 GB of storage, a shared AI credit pool for your team, and paid add-ons above 500 GB and 50,000 a month.
- **AI:** building, translating and AI Validation use credit packs ($4.90, $19.90 or $49.90) you buy when you need them. They never expire. Your own AI agent working over MCP uses none.

## How to claim the offer

1. Open the partner's link to formstep.io and accept cookies if asked. A green "Your partner discount" card confirms it worked.
2. Sign up for free. No credit card needed.
3. Build a form or try the demo, and send your first request.
4. Within 30 days, upgrade to Pro on monthly billing from the same browser.
5. Check that checkout shows half the Pro price for 3 months, then the full price: $19.50 then $39, or €17 then €34.
6. Set a reminder for the end of month 3: Pro then renews at the full price.

## FAQ

**Is there a free plan?**
Yes, with no time limit and no credit card. It covers the whole request flow, 1,000 submissions and requests a month; you send the link to customers yourself.

**What does the partner offer give?**
50% off Pro on monthly billing for the first 3 months, then the normal price. It is a discount, not free credit.

**Is there a free trial?**
There is a Free plan with no time limit and no credit card instead of a trial.

**Do I need a code?**
No. Open the partner's link, sign up, and upgrade to Pro on monthly billing within 30 days in the same browser. Checkout shows the discounted price for the first 3 months.

**What happens after the 3 months?**
Pro renews at the full price, $39 a month. If you no longer need Pro, the Free plan has no time limit.

**Can startups outside the US and Europe get it, for example in India?**
Yes. The only condition is a Formstep account that has never had a paid plan. Prices are in US dollars before tax; Formstep has no rupee prices. Checkout runs through Polar, our merchant of record, which handles the tax and issues the invoice. For a GST invoice with your GSTIN or payment by UPI, ask support@formstep.io before you upgrade.

**I already have an account. Does it apply?**
Only if the account has never had a paid plan, and you upgrade through the partner's link within 30 days.

**Do I need n8n, Zapier or an AI agent?**
No. Send requests from the dashboard and read answers there. Connect a workflow when you want to automate.

**Do my customers need an account?**
No. They open their link and answer. Their answers save as they go.

**Where is the data stored?**
In the EU. AI runs inside the EU, keeps no copy and never trains on your data. A data processing agreement applies automatically.

**Is Formstep a CRM?**
No. Formstep handles the step where you need something from a customer. Your CRM keeps the customer record.

**Can I take payments and signatures?**
Yes, on every plan. Payments go through your own Stripe account in 15 currencies, with no cut taken; signatures appear in the submission PDF.
