Questions
How is the commission worked out?
20% of each payment for the first 3 months, while your customer has the partner discount, then 40% up to month 12. It counts on Pro with monthly billing; annual billing and the Business plan earn no commission for now.
Where do I see my clicks and earnings?
In the partner portal: the clicks your link gets, the customers who subscribe, and the commission each one earns. You don't see who the customers are.
Do I need to be a Formstep customer?
No. Anyone 18 or older who can receive a payout by Wise or bank transfer can join, on the Free plan or with no Formstep account at all.
How many people can I refer?
As many as you like. There is no limit on referrals.
Can I refer myself?
No. Your own account, your company's accounts and accounts you control earn no commission.
Can I refer someone who already uses Formstep?
Only if they have never subscribed to a paid plan. A Free user who upgrades through your link within 30 days counts; a past or current subscriber does not.
Can I run paid ads?
Yes, as long as you don't bid on Formstep, Formbase or a misspelling of either, or use them in your ad copy or display URL.
Can I list Formstep on a deal or perk site?
Yes. List Formstep and the 50% partner discount on your own site, a deal page or a startup perk directory, linked through your referral link. Don't offer visitors cashback or another reward for clicking or subscribing.
Can I call it a sale?
Describe it as it is: 50% off Pro for the first 3 months for new customers who sign up through your link. It isn't a limited-time sale, so don't give it a deadline.
What if a customer gets a refund?
The commission on that payment is cancelled. That's why each payment is held for 60 days.
Do I have to disclose the link?
Yes. Say plainly, next to the link, that you earn a commission when someone subscribes.
